Kicking off 2014

Firstly I would like wish you all Happy New Year and hope that you all had a great Christmas.

For those of you who spent new years day tucked up nice and warm, I can report that a good number of hardy souls did attend the annual New Year’s Day chucky flying event and I can report that all started off well, with a few of us getting a chance to spend an hour trying to workout the best trim and launch techniques for the day, I’m still not sure we achieved it, but we did have fun trying.

Unfortunately by the time the final competitors for the chucky comp had arrived we could see rain coming straight at us from across the valley, giving us only just enough time to have one final test flight, before having to run for cover. Leaving us with no option but to abandon the event for another day and get off home to dry out. This event will be rescheduled for another day, watch this space.

Have you ever tried chucky before, if not why not? It’s not difficult to get flying and you will learn so much about flight whilst trying to achieve that really ultimate flight. It took me 3 hours to build a Jazz from scrap balsa and a plan down loaded off the internet, see this website for this plan and more plans, plus building and trimming instructions.
